Selena receives a package from Kalos.

What's contained in the box is the finest Desmarais products they have in store to Dominique's favorite daughter. The pinkette is not very bothered in opening the present, but because the delivery man insisted for her to open before leaving, she unravels the content and realizes there is something more. A letter.

And in the message, her father details how he has left Selena in-charge of his company unknowingly. That all his transactions with regards to the Desmarais Brand in Hoenn be designated to her and that he expects her to collect his clients' dues or else he will pull funding in Lilycove's renovations. The latter is very bothersome, considering the fact that she doesn't want his help in the first place but he decides to make a deal with the mayor behind her back, trapping her being responsible in fostering Camphrier and Lilycove's relationships.

The first on the list is the owner of a growing pub in Slateport's downtown—Ritual—owned by a certain .

Selena crumbles the paper in her hand, glaring eyes send the anxious delivery man to one of the gym's corner as she steps into the counter informing the staff of her day's leave. As soon as the pinkette exits the building, a corviknight taxi maneuvers in front, expecting the Desmarais heiress.

The bird's wings begin to flutter; Selena's electric aura crawling through the metal sheets of the vehicle.

“Kendra. Smart as you are, you can’t give me a head’s up more than two hours b'fore yer shift? I gotta spend the night with Lonnie now.”

“You gonna fire me Roach?”

There was a big sigh.

“Thank you Roach.”

“Yeah, yeah... Fuck, woman.” He hung up.

Fingers went to work texting his newest employees, and , to see if either of them could cover Kendra’s shift that evening. She’d be out studying for an exam. Though he’d already guilt-tripped her over it, Roach would do everything within his power to not have to butt heads with Lonnie. Besides, he had other business to attend to—multiple things.

He had a shipment of pokemon coming that would be redirected to the next buyer that evening. Ritual would be the rendezvous spot. The schedule was laid out. Prior to this, he would take a much-needed wine shipment for Ritual itself.

Only, that's what he thought was going to happen.

When Roach left out the door, cigarette hanging out of his mouth and lighter coming up to light it, he stopped short at the sight of Selena Desmarais—without a truck.

He didn’t greet her. He looked confused. “S'posed t' be booze.” he grumbled.

This was not his day.

Hiss turns to words as she steps out of the cab, waving off the driver as if to tell him to keep the change. Her eyes meet the man's, a look of confusion painted on 's face. Expectations of wine shipment is replaced with disappointment of what appears to be a dispute between someone he didn't actually involve himself with.

“It seems my father made you sign a contract that involves my name on it.”

Despite her best efforts to quell her frustration with her father while talking with another person in public, the fuming rage inside her is something that is difficult to miss seeing Selena's face that moment.

She breathes, however, and decides to try a little bit more.

“I've been asked to collect some payment for it though I don't know exactly the terms between you and him.”

Roach’s eyes left her briefly to find the end of his cigarette while he cupped it with rough hands to protect a flame. ‘Mm.’ It was almost a grunt. Puff.

“Well, Miss Desmarais, is yer name in fact on that contract? Cause I’ve never given you money before, and I can’t say I’ve ever given anyone money without product.” He raised eyebrows at the younger woman. Rich kid. Early twenties? Mad at her father?

Yeah... he would hold onto his money for now.

“I kinda figure, if yer name’s on a contract, ya might know what those terms are, don't cha think?” He took another drag.
